How to get most out of your Urban Decay Potion Primer.

I’m a big fan of Urbay Decay cosmetics. But the product I absolutely can’t live with out is their Potion Primer. It comes in this really cute genie bottle. The bottle looks good, but it’s not very user-friendly. You can’t get to all of the product with the wand, at least not with the old wand. They’ve come out with a new wand, which is angled, so I’m thinking enough people complained for them to do something about it.

Now I can be pretty stubborn, so I was not gonna waste a whole lot of this much-loved product. So here is what I did. I cut it up. Here’s a picture of the bottle, before I started cutting it up. I’ve indicated the places to cut.

So then I grabbed a big knife. Why I opted for a big knife I don’t know, maybe it felt more dramatic. I’m sure a small knife will be fine, as long as it’s sharp. First I made a cut at the top, and look and behold – lots of product left. And just as much when I cut it at the bottom.

And this is after I’ve tried as hard as I could to wiggle the wand around everytime I used it. No more was getting out with the wand, and obviously you would think it would be almost empty then.

I got these little sample/travel jars I bought at some point, and luckily they came with a tiny spatula. So next step was to start scooping out all of the leftover product. And then I realized that there was even more than what I at first thought. I was hoping to at least fill up half of the jar. There actually was almost enough for a jar, and about a third of a second jar (which I gave to my mom, as she’s just as addicted to this product as I am).

I haven’t even told why I love this product so much, and I’m guessing some of you already know it. It’s very easy to use, just gently apply it to your eyelids, before having fun with your eye shadows. It will make your eye shadow last for the whole day. My mom used to feel like her eye shadow would melt away during the day. No problem any more. And I’ve seen her late at night, after having been up early, and her eye shadow looks like she just applied it.

It also brings out the colors much more, and they become more vibrant. I should have done a swatch for this on my hand, but I didn’t think of it until just now. Maybe some other day. Anyway, if you got any cheap eye shadow you’ve been thinking about throwing out, then try it over some Urban Decay Potion Primer. It might just be worth using anyway.

That’s it from me today.

It's a new year. Here's a little of what I hope to get out of the year.

For some reason I keep thinking it’s wednesday. Anyway, that’s not important. The important thing here is that 2009 is over. I don’t know about you, but I think 2009 really sucked.

I’ve never before had the feeling about a year that nothing good is gonna come out of it. And that feeling already started back in february. Of course it might have had something to do with having a cold for 4 weeks. I think I used more boxes of Kleenex last year, than I have combined in my lifetime. The result is that now I slightly panic if I don’t have any tissues on me. Several time last year I actually (almost seriously) considered becoming a spokes-person for Kleenes (if they would pay me, of course). I figured I would be perfect for the job, going through boxes and boxes, and yet more boxed of tissue.

Good thing was my cold finally ended (but it did come back several times throughout the year). I could breathe again with my mouth closed. A luxury one don’t seem to appreciate enough. And then I hurt my back. Oh, the pain! Went to a physical therapist. Still in pain, and hardly able to walk. Sobbing through the night, went to the doctor the next day, and he gave me 2 injections in my lower back. And presciptions for muscle relaxers and pain killers. For 3 weeks all I could do was lie down. Of course I spent some part being totally dazed, due to the pain killers (the size of a horse pill). And it really takes a lot of time to get all those drugs out of your system again. I could still feel the effects almost a month after stopping taking them. I gotta be careful with my back now, but I got some really good back exercises now. Actually my back has been hurting for a few days, but I think it’s cos I’ve been so terribly lazy for weeks.

Anyway, enough of all this depressing stuff, just wanted to tell you a little about why I think 2009 sucked. But I think 2010 is gonna be amazing. I’m very optimistic about it. I hope you are too.

Any new years resolutions? I’ve tried not to make any resolutions, but instead form new habits. They say it takes up to 21 days to form a new habit. Doesn’t sound too bad. And doesn’t it make more sense to get into the habit of being more healthy, and exercise more (and lose some weight that way), than going on a diet? A diet which may be awful to be on, and make you be a total nuisance to everyone around you. And then when you’re done, you’ll go on an eating spree, and gain most of the weight back on.

So no resolutions this year for me about losing some weight, get fit, be healthy and such. But I will be getting some new habits, good habits. Of course not all at once, then I’ll just get overwhelmed and give up. The habits I am trying to form for now are: Using my Wii Fit every morning for at least 15 minutes (monday-friday). Drinking at least 1/2 litre (16 oz) of water every day. Cleanse and moisturize my face every morning and night (and not be so lazy about it). Face mask every monday and thursday – last night I tried one with red clay, which warmed on the skin. No sweets and snacks monday to thursday (only on the weekend). Must admit I had a Molten Chocolate Baby Cake last night (monday). But it was left over from the weekend, and it would not hold until next weekend, I can’t freeze it, and it was just too tasty and yummy to throw out. Anyway, habit isn’t done yet, right?! And the last one, I actually started on last month. Every other week I’m gonna go vegetarian. So next week – vegetarian in even number weeks, as we’re in an even number year. My kind of logic, I don’t expect you to think the same way.

So, these are my new habits so far. I’ll up the amount of water soon, and add some weights to my exercise later this month. I also gotta work on sending friends emails and such. Of course I also wanna read more books, but I think that will always be the case, no matter how much I read. I also kinda like to be one of those people who come home and have a drink or cocktail. You know, like a 5 o’clock drink, something sophisticated. But maybe that’s not a good idea. Just once in a while then.

How about you? What are your plans/expectations for 2010??? New habits???

Hej Hej,

I’m doing this thing where I try to be a vegetarian every other week. This is my second week of just eating vegetarian food, and it works fine. At first I thought I would get meat-obsessed in the week where it’s ok to eat meat. But I didn’t. I even made vegetarian food a couple of days last week.

So the other night I made Baked Ziti – actually I didn’t, cos I couldn’t get any ziti, so I made Baked Penne. It was good. But I also wanted to make something else. And this is where the Balsamic Onions come in. And I highly recommend them. I think they’ll be really good with meat (must try that next week).

Here’s what you need: 1 lb of shallots, 6 tsp cane sugar, 1 cup balsamic vinegar, 1/2 cup vegetable stock

Peel the shallots. In a saucepan (or whatever you have) mix everything, and let it come to a boil. Let it boil for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. If you’re feeling stuffy, put your head over the pan, I’m sure it’ll clear your sinuses right up. It’s a strong smell. Take it off the heat, taste with salt & pepper. That’s what it said, but I didn’t feel like tasting burning hot vinegar, so I just added a bit of S&P.

I’ve been eating them with bread and cheese. I have this cheese that’s a bit too strong for me, but it’s delicious with the onions. The cheese is called Grube-cheese. I know, that tells you nothing. The thing is, the cheeses are taken down into limestonemines, where they mature. To be more specific, these limestonemines. Tonight I’ll try them in a salad, they do kinda come with their own dressing.

Here’s some more food pics I had on my camera.

Curry-scented meatballs with cabbage and apples. This was one of those dishes which turn out to be much better then expected. Always a nice surprise.

Giant M&M Cookies. Yummy, yummy, yummy!!! My friend Louise got the recipe for these, and has made them several times since. The recipe says they’re best eaten the same day they’re baked. No problem!!

Typical example of how we eat hot dogs here in Denmark.

This lasagna was actually made with 2 different meat sauces. Not that the recipe called for it. But I had some leftover sauce from this other fancy lasagna I made. So I had a layer of fancy sauce, and 2 layers of, well just your basic meat sauce. And then I served it with some oven-roasted butternut squash. It was really delicious. BTW, the hand belongs to my friends Liza.

No more today.

Hej Hej,

Mona Lisa Smile – it wasn’t the first time I watched it, but it wasn’t a movie I could remember very well. But I like it.

The River King – this I’ve actually also watched before, but I didn’t remember until well into the movie. So I wasted my time, waiting for it to get better. It never seems to really deliver.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince – this came out on dvd here in Denmark 3 weeks before UK and USA. Amazing! It’s usually the other way around. I’m a big Harry Potter fan, so of course I love it!!

Fool’s Gold – this was just disappointing.

Wind Chill – could have been better. But I liked the acting.

Australia – first time I watched this. I liked it. Don’t really know what else to say. Except maybe, Hugh Jackman looked good.

Cadillac Records – I liked it. And it has the song At Last in it, which is always a good thing.

Max Payne – lots of action. Not really my thing. It wasn’t bad.

RocknRolla – loved the scene where Gerad Butler and Thandie Newton dances. Funny!!

Bolt – this was cute!

Death Sentence – I was disappointed in this. It started out good. But then it just seemed to spin itself out into something pointless. Does that make any sense? Maybe not. Oh well.

Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay – not as good as the first. It seemed to try too hard sometimes. I enjoyed it. The scene with Kumar and Vanessa between the stacks was kinda sexy.

The Zodiac -not good. Just stick to David Fincher’s Zodiac movie.

Becoming Jane – I’ve been feeling very Jane Austen lately. And I’ve got lots of movies related to her, in different ways. And I’m gonna watch them all again. Ok, so I like this movie. First time watching it I was quite sceptical, cos I think they’ve made a little fling into a big love. But then I got over that, and thought of it as mainly fictional. And I do like James McAvoy.

Marple: By the Pricking of My Thumbs – I love Agatha Christie. I’m actually trying to read all of her books in chronological order. I’m at no 2. I know, kinda pathetic, but I read a lot of books. Anyway, this is actually a Tommy & Tuppence book, but they’ve also added Miss Marple to the movie. Some people hate that, I don’t mind. I like Miss Marple. She’s my favorite. Some people only like Jane Hickson as Marple. I actually really like Geraldine McEwan. She brings a certain humour and quirkiness to the part. I like that.

Persuasion – Jane Austen again. This time based on one of her books. Actually the only one of her books I’ve never read. I really should do something about that. Well, it’s Jane Austen so I love it!

Laws of Attraction – halfway through this, I realized that I’ve watched it before. I think it was the castle. I like castles. I want one for myself. Probably not gonna happen. But I can always hope.

Then She Found Me – this was good. Good acting. And it’s got Colin Firth in it. He will always be Mr. Darcy – yeah, I’m back to Jane Austen again.

That’s it for now. Movies I’ve watched this week will come later. Though I just realized I haven’t watched a Jane Austen movie yet this week. That’ll be perfect for sunday.

I started watching a James Bond movie last night. Casino Royale. Never seen it, I’m not really into James Bond, but I thought I would give it a chance.

It started out looking almost more like a danish movie, with 2 danish actors in one of first scenes. Mads Mikkelsen who plays the bad guy, Le Chiffre, I knew right away. Seen him in quite a few movies – he’s also in King Arthur. The other dane, I actually only know from The Young Victoria – I don’t watch a lot of danish movies.

Ok, back to James Bond. I remember he was chasing someone, I’m not sure why. But I quickly got to the point where I started looking for how long into the movie I was (read that as: Is it over soon??). 19 minutes had passed. That meant I still had 2 hours to go. I’m fairly stubborn so I kept at it. Half an hour later I decided it was time to go to bed, and turn the movie into a mini-series.

But now I’ve just decided to consider it as a really long trailer, and skip it. Why waste 2 hours of my life on something I find awfully boring. So I’m not a big action fan. Who cares? I don’t.

I should have done this last week, but I didn’t. So I’m just gonna cover 2 weeks of movies in one go. I’ll try to be quick about it.

Mad Money – I actually bought this at a gas station. Don’t think I’ve ever done that before. It’s an ok movie, not great. Dianne Keaton, as always, was great.

House of Wax – I like it when, in scary movies, they focus on siblings instead of couples. Like they also did in Jeepers Creepers. It’s not a great movie, but I liked it. It had it’s creepy moments.

Ice Age: The Meltdown – also know as Ice Age 2. Well, sometimes I do enjoy watching animation, but I’m never gonna be a big fan. I like people.

Pigen og Greven – The Girl and the Count. Old danish movie from the 60’s. I’ve watched this years ago, and oddly enough the scene I remembered best was the harvest scene, with lots of these big farming machines (I don’t know what they’re called, I’m a city girl). Of course, Dirch Passer was good.

Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle – I’ve actually never seen this before. I always expected it to be really silly. But I actually really enjoyed it, and I wanna see the next one now. I like being positively surprised.

The Perfect Man – I’m in love with the cakes in this movie. Not like I wanna eat them, they’re much too pretty for that. I just wanna look at them.

Georgia Rule- a movie about mothers and daughters. I liked it. I think Felicity Huffman is a really talented actress. And Lindsay Lohan sure did seem to wear a lot of white in this.

Sweet Home Alabama – great movie. I love it.

Quarantine – I really enjoyed this. This actually scared me a few times. And the ending was good. Good meaning – I liked it.

Wild Child – I’ve always had a weakness for boarding schools. I remember when I was like 11-12, I used to read tons of books about boarding schools. Most of the cast is good, but I do think Emma Roberts more gets parts for who she is, rather than her acting. Love the scene with Shirley Henderson in the car, and Poppy’s Mary Jane-shoes. Last movie from the late Natasha Richardson, who sadly died earlier this year.

Recount – usually I don’t really watch political movies, but I wanted to watched this because of the writer. I had to see the movie written by Jonathan from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, also known as Danny Strong. And for a political movie, I liked it.

The Flying Scotsman – great movie. Tells the story of cyclist Graeme Obree, and his determination. His attitude of Just do it.

Grace is Gone – Good movie. Don’t really have anything else to say about it right now.

The Reckoning – I really liked parts of this, but sometimes I felt kinda bored. But that might be due to being sick.

Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day – oh, what a difference a day can make. I think Lee Pace was great in this.

Angels Fall – it kept me entertained.

Josie and the Pussycats – I like a funny movie, with lots of irony to it.

I also managed to watch the first season of Fame. I’ve only seen it as a kid, so it’s quite fun to now watch it as an adult. And such awful clothes, and hair-dos. And finally, I’ve watched tons of Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps. Series 1-7, and all the extra material. Now I need to get series 8, haven’t seen that yet. A few clips for you. First one with Donna and Gaz, then Jonny and Janet, and then a bit of Louise. And then end it with something from the musical episode. Enjoy!

Ok, so I might have a bit overboard with the Two Pints of Lager clips. Anyway, I would love to hear what you think of the movies and such.

I feel so tired. Being sick really makes you feel like you could use a little R&R. But hey, I’m breathing through my nose again, my lungs are no longer trying to escape from my body, and I can touch my face – no problem. Yeah, that last one may sound a bit weird, I know. But when I have a cold I can’t touch my face, well obviously I can, but when I do it feels like I can’t breathe. Not a feeling I’m a big fan of, so I try to touch my face as little as possible. Just washing with water is awful, but today I scrubbed and everything. Wonderful! Just wished I had a body scrub, but I’m going shopping so maybe I should look for one. Or make one myself. I have a book from Ole Henriksen at home right now, I think there’s one in there.

Anyway, goal for today is buy a black bag. I recently realised I don’t have one. Actually that’s a lie, I just don’t have an everyday bag that’s black. I have a big one that goes across the body, which is perfect for some situations. And then I have a black Louis Vuitton Epi Mabillon bag, not really an everyday bag. The real stuff, not a replica. Wanna show a photo of it, but I’ll put that in later. (Found one, it might be a replica though, but you’ll get the idea)

Especially not good with a winter coat. And since my winter coat is black with blue stripes, I need a black bag. So I’m hoping to find a nice, affordable one (think cheap as chips). Experiencing a lack of money, and I’m ordering an iphone later today.

Gotta leave soon, and actually I should be putting makeup on right now, so please someone tell me to get up and get going.

Hej Hej,

Dianna B.

Ok, so I just wanted to do a quick follow-up on this post. Was I successful in finding an affordable black bag? I was. I knew I wanted it to be big, the kinda bag you can just throw lots of stuff into, and I wanted it to feel comfortable when carrying it over your shoulder. It’s so annoying when it feels like the bag is slipping all the time. Anyway, I ended trying to decide between a bag from Friis & Co. (got several bags from them, and some really fancy shoes) and a bag from Dixie. The price was the same, but the Dixie bag “sat” better on the shoulder.

Both Friis & Co. and Dixie are danish companies. Dixie you should be able to buy in all of scandinavia. And Friis & Co. in all of Europe, Canada, China, Japan and I think a few other places as well. Not in the US, but I’m guessing that’s just a matter of time. They got loads of cool stuff. I’ll try to do a post on them one day, share what I got from them, and if I remember correctly I think my mom got at least one bag from them as well.

Totally forgot to look for a body scrub yesterday, but I think I wanna try and make my own. The Ole Henriksen book didn’t have one, only the coffee grind suggestion. But I wanna make one where I don’t have to use it all at once. If you’ve never tried scrubbing with coffee grinds, then try it. You can use the coffee grinds on its own, all over your body, or maybe just on your hands. The book suggests combining equal amounts of coffee grinds and brown sugar. And then add enough sesame oil, to make a thick, soft paste. And it’s supposed to be really good for fighting cellulite. Used 3-4 times a week, and you should get great results.

So instead of buying body scrub I ended up buying new boots. Is it any wonder that I’m broke? Well, I have been looking for some sensible black boots, as I don’t have any. Well, I have black boots, but not sensible ones. So I found these.

They’re from Vagabond, a swedish shoe company. This style is called Muscat. But you can get it in all of Europe. I’ve bought several shoes and boots from them, and I’ve always been very happy with them. You might not think they look very sensible, with the heel, but to me they are. Just look at the sole. And I’m not a big fan of flats, I’m just not tall enough for them. I like a bit of heel. And a lot of heel.

That’s it. Next week, I’ll try and make a body scrub. No time for it this weekend.

Have a great weekend!

So, I woke up monday morning with a cold and sore throat. And I’ve spent most of my time coughing and sneezing. So for obvious reasons I haven’t spent much time on the computer. But I have been watching lots of movies and TV – isn’t that what you’re supposed to do when you’re sick?

Let’s get started on the movies from last week. I really expected to like Burn After Reading, but my expectations failed. Of course Brad Pitt was really goofy and quite funny in it. But overall it was a disappointment.

I don’t watch a lot of made-for-TV movies, but sometimes they’re really enjoyable. So I decided to watch Northern Lights – a murder and Eddie Cibrian, might be good. He’s good looking so it had that going for it. And it turned out I really liked it. I like the whole quirky little villages stuff, with funny characters living there, and everybody knows each other. It amuses me.

It seems a lot of people hate 3 Blind Mice, but I kinda liked it. It kept me entertained, and I liked the ending. And we’re staying with the murder mystery category, but this time with better acting – The Oxford Murders. My favorite part of the movie was Oxford, but maybe that’s just me. But I’ve always loved old buildings and castles, so that’s only natural for me. Again, a surprising ending, which is always good.

I like horror movies. I think watching a horror movie which makes you almost jump out of your seat, makes you feel really alive. But there’s a lot of really bad horror movies. And one of them is Vacancy 2: The First Cut. I liked the first movie, but so often the sequel sucks. I usually like to discover the motivation that drives the characters to act as they do, especially the evil ones. But when the motivation is money, it’s just kinda boring. So then I watched another horror movie – All the Boys Love Mandy Lane. This one was better, but still not great. The best part was the ending, the twist. But I would have liked to know why? I’m not gonna give away anything in case you haven’t watched, and want to. But if you have watched it, why do you think – you know?

I watch movies more than once, well of course not all movies. For some movies, once is more than enough, it’s actually too much. Anyway, the next movie was the first repeat I watched last week. It’s a Woody Allen movie, Anything Else. It’s not his best, but it’s still Woody Allen, and that’s good enough for me. His movies always seem to have this unique rhythm and style to them, which I really like. What are some of your favorite Woody Allen movies?

Time for an old danish movie. I don’t usually watch this many old danish movies, but they’re showing a lot of them on TV right now, so…… This time it was Bussen (The Bus). Again it had Dirch Passer in it. I’ve watched it once before, years ago. But it’s not one of the really good ones.

The Incredible Hulk. 2 of my favorite actors, Edward Norton and Tim Roth, it can only be good. And to finish it all of, Love and Other Disasters. I absolutely loved her makeup in this movie. And the whole cats eye liner look is hard to do. I also liked her clothes. And now before I get all lost in the whole makeup thing, I’ll just mention that I actually liked the whole movie. But I really gotta practice my eye liner skills. But better to wait until I’ve stopped sneezing all the time. Sneezing and eye liner can really end in a disaster. If like me, you wanna practice your eye liner skills, then here’s a video from my favorite makeup guru, the sweet and lovely Lauren Luke.

Last week in movies. Started out quietly. With a silent movie, which really wasn’t that quiet, lots of music, but of course no talking. It was Metropolis by Fritz Lang from 1927. And thinking of how old it is, it really is well made. The men do seem to go a bit heavy on the eye makeup, and it has the most funny erotic dance I’ve ever seen. Nothing sexy about it, and still it seems to drive all the men crazy with lust. And the facial expressions of the evil robot. I hope the actress Brigitte Helm had lots of fun with it.

Next up is Die Fälscher (The Counterfeiters). It’s the story about how the Nazis used talented jews to set up the biggest counterfeit operation in the camp of Sachsenhausen. Good movie. Wanted – it kept me entertained, but I’m not a big action fan. As you might know (if you’ve read last weeks movie post), I like James McAvoy, but I really hope he’s not going to focus on being an action star (but I don’t think he’s gonna do that).

I went to the movies twice last week (as again you may already know this). And the first movie I saw was Julie & Julia, and I absolutely loved it. My knowledge of Julia Child before this was next to none. But I am definetely getting at least one of her cookbooks now. It’s the kind of movie that gets you excited about cooking, and very entertaining at the same time. Anybody interested in reading the original blog? I am! Or at least go here to see the trailer.

I also wasted my time by watching You Don’t Mess with the Zohan. I didn’t like it, and still I watched the whole thing. Something must be wrong with me. Maybe I was just hoping to get at least one laugh out of it, but no such luck. I like Adam Sandler, really I do, but this movie was just awful. So back to the movie theater now. And a swedish movie (what’s wrong with me?). It was Flickan som lekte med elden (The Girl Who Played with Fire). It’s the second movie, based on the author Stieg Larssons Millenium series about the hacker Lisbeth Salander and the journalist Mikael Blomkvist. The first movie was Män som hatar kvinnor (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), and the third movie Luftslottet som sprängdes (The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest) comes out next month. The trailer below is in swedish, and it contains some nudity and violence. Now you’re warned. But watch it anyway.

Ok, next is The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency. Apparently this has been turned into a series, where the movie I saw seems to be the first episode. Anyway, no chance I’m gonna watch the series. Didn’t like the movie, and quite frankly I found it kinda annoying most of the time. Too naive.

In the Valley of Elah – really good movie. Makes you think. How war ruins lives, and not only the lives of soldiers. My expectations weren’t really that high, but I definitely recommend watching it, if you haven’t already.

I seemed to stay with movies that make you think, or maybe just the next movie Charlize Theron made. Well, its Battle in Seattle. First and only (so far) movie by Stuart Townsend. I’m not a person who attends protests or anything like that. But this movie was brilliant. I loved it. Go watch it…… And now for something completely different. Another old danish movie from the sixties. Han, Hun, Dirch & Dario (Him, Her, Dirch & Dario). Here’s my favorite scene/song. Again I’m sorry, but it’s in danish, but give it a try anyway. And then that’s it.

So, I watch a lot of movies, always have. And I think it’s only natural to blog about it. My first idea was to do a like monthly post on the movies I’d watched the month before. But when it’s been almost a month since watching a movie, you kinda seem to forget a lot. So I’ve decided to do a weekly post instead.

And this should have been done monday, or tuesday, I know, but I’ve been like super buzy. Really, I have. I must admit I did watch above the average amount of movies last week. But also, I did participate in movie nights twice during the week. Ok, let’s get started.

First movie I watched was Population 436. It was nothing special, but it did keep my attention. It’s got Fred Durst in it, and I think he actually did an ok job. Next movie was Hot Fuzz, which I actually kinda liked. It’s kinda silly, but without going too far with the sillyness (hmm, is that a word?, and if yes, did I spell it correctly?). I really liked the town, it was so cute. I have a weakness for that kinda stuff, I might as well admit it. And that was monday.

Next up is Weirdsville. After watching it I couldn’t really decide on whether I liked it or not. But I think I did. It just shouldn’t be taken too seriously. I like the main actors, and if you’re not familiar with Taryn Manning’s band Boomkat, then go check them out.

A Raisin in the Sun – what can I say. I don’t see Sean Combs becoming a big movie star. I was not impressed by his performance. I think I liked the younger sister the best. She was funny. But I gotta say, it’s not a movie I would recommend watching.

Then comes the first movie night. I’m not sure you can really call it a movie night, when we only watched one. Who cares. We got an extra addition in the form of a man, though that didn’t change the plan for watching a girl’s movie. He could have stayed home, it was his decision to come. He did however get to make the final choise. It was between Definitely, Maybe and The Nanny Diaries. I thought he was gonna go for Definitely, Maybe as that at least has a male lead. But I was wrong, so we watched The Nanny Diaries (I’m guessing he picked it cos he thought Scarlett Johansson was gonna look all hot and sexy in it). I’m kinda glad he picked that (he wasn’t though, lol), cos I just finished reading the book 3 days earlier for a book club. Actually I was supposed to have finished it last month, but better late than never, right? Often I think the books are better than the movie. Not so in this case. Of course, I’d already watched the movie when I read the book, but the book really didn’t impress me. But we’re talking movies here. It’s not a great movie, but it is entertaining. That’s good enough for me.

War, Inc. was almost a waste of time. It had it’s moments, but it was just too ridiculous for my taste. And I really like John Cusack, so I was even more disappointed when I saw that he co-wrote it. So then I watched The Alibi. Much better. Not great, but ok.

Now the real movie night comes. We got through 3 movies, lots of food and snacks, washed down with soda, beer and scotch. It was quickly agreed on having a James McAvoy themed movie night. So we started out with Penelope. Such a cute movie. And I love the way she dresses. I would watch it just for that. Starter for 10 followed, in which James McAvoy is on screen much more (greatly appreciated by especially one person in the party). It was also quite funny to see the awful Edward from Penelope, suddenly dressed in a nightie and a woman’s wig. Much better look for him. Think I forgot to say that I also like this movie. This ended the James McAvoy theme (no more movies with him at the location). So then the youngest in the party, decided on the oldest movie. We’re back in 1960 now. An old danish classic. Baronessen fra Benzintanken (The Baroness from the Gas Station). It’s cute and funny. Got a castle, romance, quirky characters and Dirch Passer in it. He was a true danish treasure who sadly died in 1980.

And that’s it for that week. More to come next week. Went to the cinema last night (not gonna tell what I watched yet, but I do feel like cooking). Guess which movie it was, come on, I dare you! And I might go today as well, with my mum. Watching the 2nd movie in a trilogy. She’s read all the books and loved them, and they’re a big hit worldwide right now. Give me another guess. Come on, you know you wanna.

Ok, stuff to do, places to go, and not enough time. That’s my life. And still I find the time to watch movies, guess I’m addicted. I also love reading credits. Have ever since I was a child. Enough, I’m going now.

Hej Hej,

Dianna B.
